All my life I have been very interested in watches, and was doing watch repair by age nine, and my dad was a watchmaker as a hobby. Do you know what is the most talked about topic in churches today? It is about when Christ Jesus will return and take His people in the “rapture”. It seems the church is so focused on “retirement” that it has lost its focus on why it’s here in the first place. Do you know why we’re still here? You don’t? Just a moment ago I was remarking to my wife how it seemed like just yesterday it was the first of August, and now we’re in the third week of September already. Where has the time gone? When we were kids the time would just drag on, and we couldn’t wait until we were “big”, whether that was ten, or twelve, or fifteen. But now, my, how time flies. I remember a saying from one frog to another while they were sitting on a lily pad, “how time is fun when you’re having flies”. There’s a saying, “I’m LATE, I’m LATE, for a very important date!” We’ve all heard it, and we’ve all done it before. But there’s one important date we’d better NOT be late for, and that’s the one when the LORD calls us.

On May 2nd I was lying in bed at 2 A.M. unable to sleep, and so I got up to pray. There’s always a reason when the LORD won’t let me sleep, and it didn’t take but a few seconds to get my answer, for He spoke very clearly to me, saying MARK 13:35.
Well, right off hand, I didn’t know that verse by memory, so grabbing my Bible, it reads,
Mar 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Mar 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
Mar 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
OK, then, is it a warning to me alone? No, in verse 37, the LORD is saying to ALL of us…WATCH! Are we all sleeping? Maybe yes, maybe no, but the warning is urgent to all of us: WATCH! Continue Reading »
