WHY DON’T I HEAR GOD?

I often tell people how easy it is to hear God, and they ask “How do you do that?”  Well, maybe it’s kind of like Thomas Edison discovering over 900 ways NOT to invent a light bulb.  We need to take inventory of our life and find out WHY we have trouble hearing God.  It’s a process of elimination, really. HEARING AND LISTENING

If there is anything I’ve learned in all my life, it is that hearing and listening are not the same.  Many people say, “The LORD said….”, and yet the LORD DIDN’T say that to them.  How can I so brazenly say that?  Simple; what they said the LORD said, didn’t line up with His written word.  God never violates His Word, for any reason, for anyone.  So when I hear someone say the LORD said it, I get busy with my Bible and find out if He did or not. WATCH!

On May 2nd I was lying in bed at 2 A.M. unable to sleep, and so I got up to pray.  There’s always a reason when the LORD won’t let me sleep, and it didn’t take but a few seconds to get my answer, for He spoke very clearly to me, saying MARK 13:35.

Mar 13:36  Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
Mar 13:37  And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
OK, then, is it a warning to me alone?  No, in verse 37, the LORD is saying to ALL of us…WATCH!  Are we all sleeping?  Maybe yes, maybe no, but the warning is urgent to all of us: WATCH! Continue Reading »

THE VOICE OF THE LORD

Many people ask me, “How can I hear the voice of the LORD?” To me, that’s one of the easiest questions to answer that there is.  All you have to do is LISTEN.  God doesn’t shout, so we have to turn up our spiritual listening level.  The Bible talks about the “still small voice” God used to speak to Elijah.  We are used to being blasted every day with every kind of media in the world, TV, radio, internet, telephone, Facebook, Twitter, only to name a few.  There are so many voices competing for our attention that you really have to be selective if you’re going to hear God.
