ENDURE UNTO THE END

What is the definition of “ENDURE”?  It is a verb, denoting action, meaning to carry on through despite hardships or misfortune without yielding, to put up with, suffering, to tolerate, to continue to exist, to last.  Now, that’s what the Lord Jesus had in mind when He was asked what would be the sign of His coming, and the end of the world. A WARNING FROM PAUL

We all love to hear how much God loves us, don’t we? A lot has changed in the way we live our daily lives since the first disciples of Jesus walked the earth. It is written that they didn’t exactly live the “abundant” lives that the preachers preach today. In fact, life was not very pleasant for them at all, according to 1 Corinthians 4:9-14. Jesus talked about those who would be His disciples should take up their cross and follow Him. And obviously, those people did.

SHARE AND SHARE ALIKE

As always, before I sat down to write, I had no clue what today’s subject would be. But getting quiet, the words instantly came, “Share and share alike”. The Holy Spirit wastes no time letting me know what to teach about. Have you given any thought to exactly what that means for you?

WHAT’S YOUR EXCUSE?

Our time on this earth is drawing to a close, either by the return of Christ Jesus, or by our own “expiration date”, whichever comes first. And so, knowing that, our priority should be on doing that which is most important FIRST, then doing those things less important. So, what’s YOUR first priority? I’d like to help you pinpoint your priorities in this New Year, so you can get it started right.  And if you find your first priority isn’t what you thought it was, now is the right time to fix that.

KNOWING THE TRUTH

People say they want to know the truth, but once they hear it, they don’t always want to abide by it.  When Christ Jesus was being questioned by Pilate in court prior to being crucified, it is written,
Joh 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Joh 18:37  Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
Joh 18:38  Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. Continue Reading »

THE GREAT COMMISSION

Most every Christian has heard the term, “The Great Commission”.  The Lord Jesus gave it in Matthew 28:16-20 as His final instructions to His disciples outlining their life mission before returning to heaven, and it went like this: Continue Reading »

WHY SO MANY DENOMINATIONS?

It troubles me that there is so much division in the body of Christ. In every town there are several churches, all preaching a different “Gospel”, with different doctrines, some do this, some do that, and none agree with the other to any great extent.  Somewhere along the line, the Gospel got hijacked, and the “Gospel” we are hearing today doesn’t line up with the Gospel the disciples heard from the Lord Jesus. HOW DO YOU KNOW?

People have many ideas about how to determine if someone is really a follower of Christ Jesus. And of course, if you happen to be a minister, the bar is set higher.  Some make that determination based on how big a church a pastor might have, or how many followers they have on Facebook, or how many times they’ve been on TV. Others might say, Wow, they’re really anointed; they have a jet (or more than one)!  Another might base their opinion on how many books they have published, or how many letters follow their name.  But does any of that matter to God? FROM THE LAST TO THE FIRST

Today let’s look at Matthew chapter 20 about the parable Jesus taught about the Kingdom of heaven.  There’s a lot we need to look at here about the attitude of our heart.  And it’s been this way for a long, long time, for Jesus dealt with it over 2,000 years ago. Continue Reading »

ALL THOSE WHO BELIEVE

Exactly who is this JESUS that we all talk about?  Is He really who He said He is; and if so, what are we doing about it?  Let’s take time to explore these things today so we know that there is no more doubt whatsoever. Continue Reading »
