UNDERSTANDING THE PARABLE

The Lord Jesus sometimes taught in parables to the multitudes, yet He was giving away the secrets of the universe.  To some, it was given to understand the parables, and to others, the words He spoke just went over their heads.  This still happens today, we can hear the words of a parable, and maybe even memorize and repeat them, but the truth behind them somehow doesn’t register in our mind.  Today I’d like to use a parable of Jesus to try to increase your understanding of what the Lord has made available to us, free for the taking by “whosoever will”. WHATSOEVER YOU NEED, JUST ASK

   The Lord Jesus spoke these words to His disciples in John 14:11-14,  Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. FORGIVEN !

   There are many born-again Christians who have struggled with sickness in their body, some for years on end, who just can’t seem to get the manifestation of their healing.  They go to church, trying to live a life that gives glory to God, pray, study the Word, but somehow, the promises in the Word don’t line up with what is going on in their body.  So the natural question is; why isn’t the Word of God working for me?  What am I doing wrong?  Or is it just the fact that healing really isn’t for everyone?  And of course, some say that the miracles of healing we see in the Bible were for a different time, and a different people, and it doesn’t apply today.
