This isn’t the first time I’ve shared my testimony about how God healed me of five melanomas and liver cancer, and it won’t be the last. When I was diagnosed with cancer in July 1993, the doctors gave me a month to live. So I did the wise thing; I went to church and was prayed over for healing. And I continued to get sicker after I was prayed for. I started out weighing about 123 pounds, when I first started out speaking God’s healing scriptures continually. I was losing weight real bad, and got weaker still, and doubt came calling. And it wasn’t calling quietly, either. Does this confessing God’s word really work ? Soon my weight was down to 86 pounds. For all practical purposes, it looked to me and everyone else like God’s word didn’t work. But it did, and it does, for those who believe. And healing came! Glory to God, it came. I have it, it’s mine! And I’m not turning loose of it! But it doesn’t work for those who doubt. Many “hope”, but hope doesn’t hit the mark either.
Let me ask you this, What would you be doing right now if you were suddenly completely healed this moment of whatever it is you are struggling with? My guess is, you would be thanking God and worshipping Him very earnestly and joyfully. Right? Well, if that’s true, then why not do it now? Because when you read Mark 11:23-24, Jesus tells us that if we believe in our heart and doubt not, and SAY, we will have whatsoever we say. Verse 24 says, “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
In other words, when you ask God for what you desire, believe the instant you ask that you have already received what you asked for. And act like it! Also, when you stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any…
The important thing about God’s word is this, you need to know where, when, and who the word spoken applies to. Jesus was talking to His disciples. Are you His disciple? then it applies to you. If not, you need to fix that situation first. Get that part settled. Now, when and where need to be settled. Acts 2:39 says the promise of receiving the Holy Ghost, and all His other benefits is this: “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” That verse covers who, when, and where. The word “is” covered the “when”. The word “is” represents present tense, NOW, to those near and afar off, even as many as God calls. He has called YOU. You have accepted the call to salvation, so the promises are to you personally. Settle that and never reconsider it, no matter what, ever.
When you praise and worship and thank God for whatever you have asked Him for, even before you see it, you are telling God, Yes, I know it’s mine, I have it. Thank you, Lord!
I remember my Dad telling me, When you turn 14, I’m going to find you a car. I was just 13, and no one my age then had a car of their own, and I didn’t have the car in my possession, but my Dad told me it was going to be mine when I was 14. I told everyone I knew at the time, I have a car coming. It was as good as in my driveway already, because my Dad was always good for his word. I even went out and bought a can of wax for it. But the natural circumstances all said, No way!  Still, I thanked Dad for it continually. And sure enough, when I turned 14, he came home with my car. It was a black 1953 Chevy and it had not a scratch or dent on it, and this was 1961.

And what if I had not believed him? I probably would not have received my car. I was the only one around who did believe him. My friends sure didn’t. They looked at me and said, No, not in your wildest dreams! They would laugh at me and call me a liar. Back in those days, we rode bicycles, that is, if we could afford one. Otherwise, we walked. And we were poor. I tell people, we were so poor, we couldn’t even pay attention. My Dad was by this time pretty much disabled and unable to work, but even though his health turned sour, he still kept his word to me.

I have no clue what my Dad went through to provide that car for me, in light of his failing health and our lack of finances at the time. It wasn’t me who asked him for a car, he was the one who made the promise. I wouldn’t have dared to even ask for such a thing in those days. I rode a bike and was real glad to have it, and worked hard mowing yards and did odd jobs just to help us eat. Asking for a car was like asking for the moon. Now, if my earthly Father did that, how much more will my heavenly Father keep His word?
Another thing, when you do ask God for something, make sure it is His will to provide it. You’re covered concerning healing every time. It’s always His will for you to be whole. Jesus clearly demonstrated and taught that. And you aren’t going to break the bank of heaven by asking God for something. The word says we can boldly go to the Throne of Grace….BOLDLY, not like a beggar asking for a crumb. Why? Surely not because of our own merit, but because of what Jesus did for us.

Yet many are afraid to ask God for anything. They have convinced themselves they have to stay in the situation they’re in, suffering in poverty, or sickness. Jesus said, and let me remind you, this is the Son of God talking, in John 16:23-24, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily (most solemnly and truly) I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give (grant) it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ASK, AND YE SHALL RECEIVE, THAT YOUR JOY MIGHT BE FULL!” Tell me, does this sound like a God that wants you to have nothing?
Settle this forever, your heavenly Father loves you! He loves you personally. He wants you to ask for what you want. And He wants you to receive it. I see you kind of like this: You have asked the Father for your healing. He said, “OK, no problem, be healed.” And you said, I’m not sure You will do it for me personally. What have I done to earn it? Why would you do that for me? And the Lord said simply, “Why not? You’re my son. I love you. And besides, I can, so I did. So take it and enjoy it!”

The Bible says it is impossible for God to lie. Settle that right now, once and for all and never look back. Don’t reconsider it when circumstances around you say the opposite of God’s word. Leave it settled, just like you know your name.

So when is it yours? That’s up to you. He already gave it, so it’s up to you to receive it. Stop letting the devil talk you out of having it. Everything the devil tells you is a lie. There is no truth in him at all. The only power he has to use against you is his lies. And if you buy his lies, whatever he is selling is yours. And yes, you have to buy his lies, because whatever the devil tries to sell you, costs you much more than you want to pay. His stuff is never free. Oh, it may look like it’s free, but it isn’t. Trust me on that.
But everything God tells you is truth. There is no lie in Him. Speak God’s word over your life continually, and you will have what God says, and that is always GOOD! And God doesn’t sell you stuff, He GIVES it to you! Pretty simple when you break it down to the least common denominator, right?

I know my name is Jerry. If someone around me calls out for Bob, I don’t have to ask myself it my name is Bob and are they talking to me. No, I settled that long ago. I’m Jerry. No further consideration is needed. Apply that same kind of thinking to God’s word. “It is written”. Therefore, “it is settled.” Then everything you need in life will fall into place as you speak His word and act upon it. And when doubt comes calling, you won’t listen.
