Christ Jesus said in Matthew 7:7-8, 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

I find this to be an interesting promise. The Word of God cannot be broken, and there is no “if” included in what He said, so it can be taken at face value. It now becomes a matter of “what” you are asking for or “what” you are seeking for, or “what” you are knocking to open.

I’m going to get right to the point here; let’s say you are asking God to heal your body. What are you seeking with all your heart? Are you seeking God with all your heart, or is the majority of your “seeking” done on Facebook? Are you “knocking” constantly on heaven’s door to gain admittance to the knowledge of God? Or are you knocking others whose opinions are unlike yours? Hard word? No, I’m just trying to help you find out where YOUR priorities are, because when I was dying of cancer, I had to face these same questions.

Before you can get the results you want, you must first ask the right questions. If you’re a NASA scientist, wanting to know what the correct trajectory is for a moon launch, the right thing to ask is not what color carpet you need to buy for your home. You must seek knowledge about what you need to know, and ONLY what you need to know. Anything else brings confusion into the picture. You see, there are MANY subjects in the Word of God, and yes, we should study it all, but when you’re seeking healing, you don’t need to be spending your time searching the scriptures about prosperity, or checking out the internet for the best prices on that new car you want. You must be FOCUSED. And that’s exactly what the devil does not want.

When I was going through cancer, needless to say there was a lot of pain going on, which is a major distraction to careful Bible study. But through it all, I remained focused on what I was seeking, for my life depended on it. There were times my wife would ask what I had just studied, and the pain was so distracting, that five minutes later, I couldn’t remember what I had just read. But regardless, the Word of God was getting down into my spirit man, here a little, there a little, and those seeds sown took root and became my harvest of healing. I wasn’t wasting my time watching TV, or reading the newspaper, or surfing the internet. My level of focus was intense, for there was a mission that was too important to fail.

Now, Jesus said, “seek, and ye shall find”. I believe He meant EXACTLY what He said. So it became my priority to seek healing, and nothing else. That didn’t mean that nothing else was important, it just meant that my PRIORITY was healing at the time. So the first thing I had to seek was the LORD Himself, for He is the source of healing. It isn’t the doctor, it isn’t medicine, it is the LORD. His Word is full of healing scriptures, and I went through my Bible and highlighted them, speaking them aloud, for it is written in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” By reading them aloud, I was hearing those words, and faith came.

How is “faith” defined? Let’s have a look at Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen.” Have any of you ever studied Algebra? It’s all about equations. In that verse, the word “is” means “equals”. Everything AFTER the “equals” must equal everything BEFORE the “equals”. So that means “faith” equals “substance”. “Faith” equals “things hoped for”. “Faith” equals “evidence”. “Faith” equals “things not seen”. But once the faith becomes substance, it is no longer “things hoped for”, nor is it “things not seen” any longer. It is not even “evidence”. It is SUBSTANCE!

But it won’t become SUBSTANCE as long as you are half-heartedly asking, seeking and knocking. Do you see that? Too many people are seeking healing for their body, but their asking, seeking, and knocking is diluted with other things. They are still concerned with the things of this world, and that brings death.

God said in the First Commandment, in Exodus 20:3, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.” In today’s speech, it says, “YOU SHALL SEEK ME FIRST, before all else: before your sustenance, before your very life, before ANYTHING ELSE”.  When you need healing, the first thing that comes to mind is “me getting well”. And that’s not the first thing you need to seek. You need to seek the LORD first, because He has your healing. Your attention must be focused upon Him alone, for here is the key: Proverbs 8:17 says, “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 says,
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
The key here is “…….When ye shall search for me with all your heart.

If you are not willing to water down your efforts to be healed with unfruitful distractions, like TV, internet, Facebook, and worldly passions, you will be qualifying yourself to be seeking the LORD with all your heart. And when you seek Him with all your heart, you WILL find Him. Once you’ve found the LORD, you’ve found your healing, as well as EVERYTHING ELSE He has in His hand, for He is not neglectful of those who are truly HIS OWN. Notice I said, “His own”.

After twenty six years I’m STILL healed, because I still live by the same rules I’m teaching you here. In addition to being healed, God has blessed me in the other areas of my life as well. I’m not seeking the things of this world, I’m seeking HIM, for in Him is everything else I will ever need, now and for ever. So, what else can I say? SEEK, AND YE SHALL FIND!
