Many people tell me they are “waiting on God”. So they won’t do a thing until they get a nudge from God. Therefore, they never do anything for God because that nudge never comes. And that’s because God is waiting on them to get about doing the work of the Kingdom of God. With all the talk about the “rapture”, many Christians have their mind on getting raptured out of here so they don’t have to go through the tribulation. But how does that line up with the Word of God?

Think about this, if the Christians are “raptured”, who is going to be here to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God? Hmmmmm? The angels can’t preach the Gospel, because that’s only mankind’s privilege. Jesus spoke a parable of the tares and the wheat in Matthew 13:24-30 that I’d be willing to bet you really didn’t pay close attention to.

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Did you catch that? The first “rapture” that everyone is so excited about, is actually the gathering of the TARES by the angels to BURN! Afterwards, the LORD will gather the WHEAT into His Kingdom. We have another clue in Daniel 12:9-12 about that.
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

As our world becomes more evil day by day, with men calling evil, good, and good, evil, we are in the end times. Verse 11 makes mention of a thousand two hundred and ninety days. That will be the gathering of the TARES to burn. Verse 12 again, Blessed is he that waits “endures” and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. That will be the gathering of the WHEAT into the barn; that is, when the dead in Christ shall rise first, THEN those who remain will be caught up to meet Christ Jesus in the air, as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17,

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

So, do you still want to be in the first “rapture”?

We will go through the tribulation, where many will fall away and their love for God and their fellow man will grow cold, because they thought God would rapture them out BEFORE the tribulation. Let me put this in order so you can better understand what I’m saying. Revelation 7:9-14 says,

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

You see, God kept the “wheat” (Christians) here through the tribulation to preach the Gospel to the “tares”. Think about it; if the Christians were already gone, there could be no one saved during the tribulation. So yes, it appears we will be here during the tribulation.

Now for those of you who remember Elvis, he had a song called “A little less talk and a lot more action”. Now, what will get the attention of the unbelievers? More “talk” isn’t going to do it. Only Christians DEMONSTRATING the power of God, just like in the days of the disciples, and in the Book of Acts will draw them to the LORD. You aren’t waiting for God, God is waiting for YOU to do His work.

The Apostle Paul put it like this in 1 Corinthians 2:1-4,
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Paul said in Romans 8:14-19,
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

So, what are YOU waiting for? Get it right with God so you can DEMONSTRATE the power of God, instead of just talking about it. There are many lost and unsaved out there who need the LORD. Let me put it like this: how many are following YOU because you demonstrate the power of God? God is waiting……
