Every day that passes brings us closer to the day of the return of Christ Jesus.  It’s safe to say we’re closer today than we were yesterday.  The Bible says in Matthew 24:36-42,
32  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37  But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40  Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41  Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Verses 37-39 should give us all reason to think.  We all tend to think things will continue as usual.  But are they?  No, wickedness is increasing daily, and the peaceful life we have enjoyed is slipping away, because we haven’t been guarding our peace, and we have been letting wicked people become our leaders for several years now.  Sooner or later, it’s all going to come to a head, and I for one don’t think it’s going to be much longer.

We read in the Bible how God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for their perversity.  And if God doesn’t bring the same judgment on those who practice the same perversity, then those of Sodom and Gomorrah will stand in the judgment and accuse God of being unjust for punishing them and not those doing that today, and rightly so.  Well, that isn’t going to happen, because God WILL judge the wicked, no matter what generation they’re in.  He has to, for He is righteous.

And how many millions of babies have been aborted in America?  Do you think God is going to look the other way, just because Christ Jesus went to the cross to be the sacrifice for our sins?  If so, you have another think coming.  Just like a mutt on a leash, God is going to let things go just so far, then He is going to jerk the slack out of the world and bring judgment.  Now, I realize there are many prophecies in the Bible that still need to be fulfilled before Christ’s coming.  BUT….have you considered when YOUR expiration date may be?  I don’t care if you’re 13 or 93, people of all ages die unexpectedly, and most of them have no clue it’s about to happen.  They buy, sell, live, marry, have families, work jobs, and are clueless they may die that day, and once it happens, it’s too late to go back and get things right with God.

So what am I getting at?  Simply this: Are YOU ready RIGHT NOW to meet your maker?  Let’s say you’re in your teens or twenties and you think you have all kinds of time to get it right with God.  DO you?  Are you SURE?  Can you GUARANTEE you will be alive tomorrow, or next week, or next year?  Well, if you aren’t ready 24/7 to meet the LORD, then you’re already in a heap of trouble, because like it says there in verse 42, you know not when your LORD comes.  I know you’d rather read a “bless me, bless me” article instead of this, but actually, I AM giving you a “bless me” article, because I’m telling you how to end up hearing Jesus say, “Well done” instead of you ending up “well done”, as in the Lake of Fire.  How do you prepare now for what’s coming ahead?  Glad you asked!

I remember an old hymn which says “A little talk with Jesus makes it right.” If you haven’t had that talk with Him, do it NOW.  Why is it so urgent to do it NOW?  Well, unless you can absolutely guarantee you’ll be around “LATER”, after you’ve done everything else that you think is more important than experiencing salvation, then you’re gambling with the most important thing you possess: your soul.  And the deck is stacked against you, the devil will see to that.

According to the Bible, we’re looking at hard times ahead until Christ returns.  Why add to the trouble by knowing you aren’t right with God?  Get right with Him, and that’s the most important problem you can get out of your way.  The benefit of that is He will give you whatever guidance and grace you need to face whatever happens to you in the future, and that is a HUGE load off of you.  He really loves you, and doesn’t want you to miss out on the greatest gift ever given unto man, namely SALVATION.

You all know I love to teach about healing.  Healing is nice, and the Lord Jesus has already paid in full for your healing, and yes, you can have it.  Not because I said so, but because HE said so.  But consider this: what good is a perfectly healed body if you’re going to hell with it?  Let’s keep the main thing the main thing:  take care of your SOUL first, because His coming is closer than you think!
