As we close out another year, I want to ask you, Did you live out this year in the perfect will of God? And if not, what are you going to do about it? Obviously the best answer would be, “I’ll repent and get things right with God.”
So, where do you begin? Many, if not most of us, have our pre-conceived idea of what the perfect will of God is. But I’m not one of those people. No, I go to the Word of God, directly to the Source, to find out what the perfect will of God is. And then I change MY ideas and attitudes to line up with His Word. After all, you cannot possibly live in the perfect will of God if you don’t know what His will is. And the only way you can know is to forget what you THINK is His perfect will, and humbly study His Word and let Him show you what His will is. You see, that’s where most people mess up: they decide what THEIR perfect will is, and try to get God to go along with it. And if you listen to people pray, you will find I’m right about that. “LORD, do this or do that for me, give me this or that, bless me……” well, you know how it goes, I don’t have to tell you.

Do you know what God’s perfect will for you is? His will is that you be whole; that is, shalom, nothing missing, nothing broken. That means free from sin, frustration, anger, jealousy, envy, depression, sickness, disease, WHOLE!

How do we get to become whole? First off, we must know the difference between God’s idea of “WHOLE”, and OUR fleshly idea of “WHOLE”. Our flesh wants to be comfy, fed, content, and have what it wants. And we will do whatsoever we need to do to make our flesh happy. If you don’t believe me, consider the fact that most of us work for our living to supply what our flesh demands of us. Yet, if you ask most people, they would not consider themselves “whole”, because there’s always something missing or broken. But let me tell you something; as long as you’re run by your flesh, you will NEVER be whole, because the flesh can never be satisfied.

Proverbs 30:15-16 has something to say about that,
15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

As long as you live on this earth, your flesh will never be satisfied, and yet the Lord Jesus expressed His desire for people to be made whole, and here’s an example in Mark 5;25-34:
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

What exactly did Jesus mean by WHOLE? In verse 34, He used the word “whole” twice, yet they were two different words in the Greek. Let’s find out what GOD’S definition of WHOLE is!
In that verse, the first word “WHOLE” is G4982, SOZO, according to Strong’s Dictionary means, “safe”, to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively), heal, preserve, save (self), fo well, be (make) whole. The next word ‘WHOLE” that Jesus used in verse 34 is G837 HUGIES, which means, healthy, that is, well (in body), figuratively true (in doctrine)- sound, whole.

So, what do we take away from that? God wants you to have BOTH, salvation and deliverance, preservation for your soul, AND health in your body. In other words, like the word SHALOM says, nothing missing, nothing broken. God did not put you here on this earth to be living outside of His Word and His blessings. But He gives you “free will”, which many can and do use to deprive themselves of God’s best. God is not a control freak, He offers you His very best, but He won’t make you take it. You can certainly “opt out” anytime you like, but why would you WANT to?

If you have been living with less that God’s best, it’s because you are choosing to, for the LORD has ALREADY provided EVERYTHING you could possibly need to be WHOLE. Maybe you’ve been trying to find your “own way” into God’s perfect will, trying to be made whole by your own efforts, or by material goods, or by the doctor, or by whatever. Let me save you further trouble, you’re wasting your time. There is only ONE way into the Father’s perfect will, and that is by CHRIST JESUS of Nazareth, Y’shua Messiah.

There are those who tell us that it is NOT God’s perfect will to heal everyone, and then of course, the devil will chime in and say, “Yes, and you’re one of them that it isn’t God’s will to heal.” If you will but put aside YOUR opinion and seek God’s, you will quickly find it IS the heavenly Father’s perfect will that EACH AND EVERY PERSON BE MADE WHOLE! Now, that’s HIS perfect will, but He has YOUR perfect will to contend with, and there’s where the problem lies. It would be so simple if God would just override OUR will and apply HIS will to our lives, but He never does that. The only way you will have God’s will working in your life is to choose to apply His will to your life. Until you do that, you will be living “hit and miss” with His blessings, enjoying His blessings as He is able to push them past YOUR will.

I actually know people who say they want to be healed, but they wear their “affliction” as a badge of honor so people will feel sorry for them. And the sad thing is, God really wants them to stop suffering and be made whole, but believe it or not, God has to allow them to suffer because of their own free will, even though the price has already been paid by Christ Jesus for them to be made whole. There are varieties of ways to avoid being whole: maybe you don’t really want to be made whole badly enough to give up that sin that you enjoy so much. Or maybe you refuse to believe God’s Word, or maybe you just don’t understand God’s will because you haven’t taken time to study it out. There’s a cure for each thing that is keeping you from being made whole. But talking God into making you whole isn’t one of them. He has ALREADY done His part for you to be made whole, and is offering it to you RIGHT NOW!

Most people I know that are struggling to be made whole try to cop out by saying, “I guess it’s not God’s will to make me whole.”, or, “It’s just not God’s timing yet.” It’s always easier to blame someone else, rather than taking responsibility for your own actions. Whether it’s salvation or healing, it’s all upon YOU. Take it or leave it. That’s as simple as I know how to say it. Sadly, not everyone chooses to take it. But I hope YOU WILL!

Regardless of what anyone has told you in the past, it is God’s PERFECT WILL that you be made whole. Read His Word, you will see for yourself, don’t just take my word for it. Don’t waste another moment living in anything less than God’s best. After all, He already paid for it FOR you! BE MADE WHOLE NOW IN THE NAME OF CHRIST JESUS OF NAZARETH, Y’SHUA MESSIAH!
