I WANT THINGS GOD’S WAY

It is written in Proberbs 29:2, When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.     It doesn’t matter which age you live in, when corrupt and wicked people rule, the people mourn.  We’re seeing a lot of that going on right now. In less than ten months, the present administration has more than doubled fuel prices, food prices, and created hardship for almost everyone in the country, except for the ruling elite.  So is there a cure? COME IN WHILE THE DOOR IS OPEN

Today I’d like to teach out of John chapter 14 beginning in verse 1.  Though the world we live in today is much different than the one the early disciples lived in, many things remain the same, like fear and worry and uncertainty, and the Lord Jesus wanted to assure His own that He was not going to ever abandon them.  So what’s the first thing He tells them? A SOFT ANSWER

Proverbs is a book I often teach from, and today Proverbs 15:1 comes to mind, and it should be an easy one to memorize, for it will come in handy many times in your life.  It says, A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.  Continue Reading »

WAITING AT HIS GATE

Proverbs is always a good place to seek wisdom, and today, the scriptures I’ll us is from Proverbs 8:34-35,

34  Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35  For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.  Continue Reading »

WATCHING AND PRAYING

WATCHING AND PRAYING

By Jerry Baysinger

The Lord Jesus told us in Luke 21:8-36 about things in the latter days that we would see going on around us, for us to be aware of them, but not to be in fear.  Man’s nature is to worry about that which he cannot control, and it’s a very powerful instinct to try to overcome. Continue Reading »

WORKING THE WORD

The Holy Bible is full of promises to us, but unless we put them to use, they are only words on a page.  I have an old Tee shirt that says, “The Word works wonders when the workman works the Word”.  The exact opposite is true as well, if we don’t work the Word of God, it produces no wonders for us.  The first wonder the Word will work for us is salvation, IF WE WORK THE WORD. LOVINGKINDNESS

A word kept repeating in my spirit last night and today; LOVINGKINDNESS. That’s certainly what is needed in each of our lives, more and more as the days continue to grow more evil day by day.  In today’s dog-eat-dog world, there isn’t a lot of lovingkindness.  That’s not to say it doesn’t exist, but it’s in pretty short supply, and I’m talking about even in GOD’S PEOPLE! LOVE COVERS ALL SINS

It is written in Proverbs 10:12,  Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

There certainly doesn’t seem to be a shortage of hatred these days, and everyone is quick to blame someone else when things go wrong.  BUT LOVE COVERETH ALL SINS.  That’s my sins, as well as anyone else who asks for their sins to be covered. Continue Reading »

WHAT IS YOUR FOCUS?

There seems to be a lot of people who either don’t believe the LORD is returning soon, or just don’t care, by the way they live and speak.  I for one believe He IS coming soon, perhaps during my lifetime, and it moves me with fear, not of being lost, but of not accomplishing what He has called me to do.  And that is what?  Preaching the Kingdom of God and asking people to repent and become disciples of Christ Jesus. GENUINE OR COUNTERFEIT

With so many things being counterfeited these days, like American goods being counterfeited in China, it can be hard to know the genuine article from the counterfeit.  I’ve enjoyed watches pretty much my whole life, learning to work on them from a child. My dad did watchmaking part time, and watching him take a broken watch and make it run again made me want to learn to do it too.  And before long I had a small collection of various watches.  Most of them were “cheapies”, as I was just a kid, but Dad worked on some pretty expensive ones, too.
