Have you ever been fishing? Many people have. I grew up on a lake, and spent a lot of time fishing. So, how do you catch fish? Well, first of all, you have to go where the fish are, because they most likely won’t come to you. A body of water is usually a good place to start. But not just any water, it needs to be a place where fish live, like a lake or stream. You see, there aren’t any fish in the public drinking water supply tanks, or in your neighbor’s swimming pool, or in the ditches along the road after the rain, so you can eliminate those places. It is commonly taught in churches, “whom the son sets free is free indeed”. There is absolutely no question about it; God does not want us in bondage to anything, but to be free, no matter where on earth we live or what government we live under. Back in the days when I owned a furniture repair business, I was well known and had a long waiting list for my services. Well, one day a man called wanting me to make him an oak dining room table and wanted to know how soon I could have it done. I told him, I’ll plant an acorn today. Years ago I saw a sign in a store that said, “In God we trust-all others pay cash.” Somehow that stuck in my mind and I’ve never forgot it. In other words, if God needed credit, they would gladly grant it to Him, but others? Forget it. It’s nice to know that if God came up short, someone would be willing to float Him a loan, because He is trustworthy. Yet, though the world is in recession, the Kingdom of heaven is not going broke.
