EXCEEDING RIGHTEOUSNESS

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 5:20, For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
At first glance, that’s pretty condemning.  Continue Reading »

THE PURPOSE OF THE “FIVEFOLD MINISTRY”

We hear a lot these days about the “FIVEFOLD MINISTRY”.  The disciples were trained under Jesus to imitate Him, to love the heavenly Father with all their heart, mind, soul and strength, and love their brother as themselves.  Jesus clearly lived that life in front of them every day.  The Lord Jesus granted the disciples power from on high to carry on the Father’s will upon the earth.   In Ephesians 4, the apostle Paul gave us insight into what the purpose of the “fivefold ministry” really is.  Let’s read about it. HIS MERCY ENDURETH FOREVER

It is written in 2 Chronicles 16:34, O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever.  In today’s society, everyone wants things fast, so here’s a fast description of God for you: good and merciful.  If those were the only characteristics of God, those two alone would be enough to get me to run to Him and worship.  Continue Reading »

FAITH LIKE A 2X4

This week I have been in my father-in-law’s old house that he is restoring, it’s likely over 100 years old.  The high walls are plaster and lath, and it has solid oak floors.  The 2x4s actually measure 2×4 in the original part of the house.  But where it has been added onto through the years, the lumber dimensions just keep getting smaller and smaller.  In one part, the “2x4s” measure 1 7/’8 x 3 ¾.  In another part of the house, the “2x4s” measure 1 5/8 x 3 5/8. In the most recent additions, the “2x4s” measure 1 ½ x 3 ½ .  What’s the problem?  trying to get the new to line up with the old.  Continue Reading »

WHICH IS EASIER: SALVATION, OR HEALING?

For some reason, people seem to be able to believe God for salvation, which they cannot see, but yet stumble when trying to believe for healing, which they can see.  Why is that?  Continue Reading »
