Many have asked me, “Why are only some healed?”, and that’s a fair question that is worthy of an answer. There are some healing ministries out there that claim 100% results, but I’m not one of them. In fact, if I find one that can consistently show me 100% healings, then I’m going to follow them myself and learn what I can. But from what others tell me that came to me after not being healed at others, it shows me that none of us are getting 100% results. There MUST be a reason for that, because Jesus had no failures, nor did He teach His disciples to fail.
Well, there is ONE reason that Jesus had 100% results, and that is He is the Son of God. True, He came here in the form of a man, took on humanity and had to learn like any other man, He was fully human, yet fully God. And there was a blind man that He laid hands on that was not healed the first time, but rather the second time. We can read about that account in Mark 8:22-26,

22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

I wonder why Jesus had to lay hands on him twice? Unfortunately, the Bible doesn’t tell us, for maybe we could then understand why not everyone gets healed the first time. We can come up with many theories, well, at least I can, but none of them hold water for every case. Many well-meaning people at healing meetings see someone who failed to receive healing and say, “Maybe they have sin in their life.” Another might say, “Maybe they have unforgiveness against someone.” Another might say, “They have unbelief.” Someone once said, “Maybe they have robbed God by not paying their tithes.” All of these theories are out of the Bible.

But if that were the case, NOBODY would get healed, because we have ALL sinned, and had doubt and unbelief at the very minimum, myself included. Yet God healed me of terminal cancer in 1993 with no treatments, and I’m STILL healed. Others say, “You just never know what God is going to do.” That seems to be the one excuse that gets used the most….just blame it on God if someone is not healed. “It must not be His will to heal that person.” Boy, the devil just LOVES that one!
Let me clear up at least PART of the mystery for you: it IS God’s will to heal every one that needs healing, because Jesus healed every single person who came to Him, not refusing to heal even one. The closest Jesus ever came to refusing to heal someone is found in Matthew 15:22-28,

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Even though Jesus called her a “dog”, He was moved by her plea for mercy, her persistence, as well as the fact that she called Him LORD, so He healed her daughter. So that shoots the theory that “It is not God’s will to heal this person”. But what moved Jesus? Was it His compassion, or her need, or her nationality, or even that her daughter had a devil? None of that got the job done. It was HER FAITH! He never once mentioned His own faith! HER FAITH moved heaven! Here’s another one:
Mark 5 tells us about the woman with the issue of blood,

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

I like to explain it like this: that woman snuck up on Jesus and TOOK her healing, and as soon as she had touched his clothes, He KNEW someone pulled healing power out of Him. He didn’t pray for the woman, He didn’t teach her, or absolve her of her sins, or ask if she had paid her tithes. He was just minding His own business, and some woman came to Him and put a demand on His anointing that even HE could not stop from happening. What is that demand? IT IS OUR FAITH!

I remember my own healing like it was yesterday. I had asked the Lord Jesus to forgive my sins, because I was dying and heading for hell and I knew it. I knew nothing about healing then. He told me to read Psalm 103:2-3, which has become my favorite scripture. It says,

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.  When I read that, I asked, LORD, are you going to heal me too? He said, “I already have.” Funny thing, I didn’t look any different, nor did I feel any different. I had no physical evidence whatsoever. I had every opportunity to doubt. But I had His Word, and that was all I needed. My faith rose up and I took my healing, and like I said earlier, I’m still healed, and it’s been twenty five years this month.

Now understand this: if I lay hands on you and you’re not healed, I’m not trying to come up with an excuse for my faith not working. There are gifts of healings mentioned in the Bible, and I believe some people are given that gift. God has healed a LOT of people for me over the years, and yet some were not healed. I’ve also seen some healed initially with solid proof of it, and yet later on the affliction came back and they died. I pulled a quadriplegic out of a wheelchair and walked him in front of many people. I’ve seen blind eyes healed, the deaf healed, diabetics healed, broken bones healed, terminal cancer instantly healed, and many other things. But one thing I know for sure, people can be absolutely healed, and later the devil comes back with another attack, and they turn loose of their faith, and end up dying.

YOUR FAITH will heal you, but you’d better hold tight to that faith, because if the devil can bring anything on you and get you to doubt your healing, you WILL lose it. I don’t care how much faith the healer has, ultimately the devil will come after you to try to steal your healing from you after the healer is not around, and it’s just you and the devil alone in the night. First he hits you with a pain or a symptom, and usually the first words that come out are, “I THOUGHT I WAS HEALED! But I guess I’m not after all…” He has come numerous times to me to see if I will turn loose of my healing, but I’m not about to turn loose of mine. If you want to turn loose of yours, that’s YOUR business, not mine.

But after studying Matthew, Mark, Luke and John over, and over, and over, and over, I know a few things. Jesus taught, yes, COMMANDED His disciples to heal the sick. He didn’t tell them “Pray for them”, He said in Matthew 10:8, HEAL THE SICK, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

God gave the believers a firm command to heal the sick. That tells me the sick got healed. Whether or not they KEPT their healing was up to them. Some do, some don’t. And you can’t blame God or the healing minister if you don’t keep your healing, because it’s totally up to YOU to be diligent against the devil’s lies and attacks.

Jesus warned everyone in John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. If you use your faith, God will heal you. If you want to STAY healed, use your faith. It’s your servant, never give it a day off, because the day you get lax with your faith, the devil will come to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus warned us, pay attention. He wants us healed, living an abundant life, but it takes diligence. And some people are just too lazy to give that diligence, thinking it’s God’s job to KEEP them healed. It isn’t. It’s YOUR job. USE YOUR FAITH!
