Most everywhere you look, you see someone protesting against something. Now, protesting can be good, if it’s protesting against evil. But most protesting we see today is simply people wanting their own way. They don’t care what someone else wants, it’s their way or the highway. And that mindset has been around ever since the Garden of Eden. And to God, it stinks, or “stinketh”, as King James would say.

God raised up prophets in their various generations to warn the people to stop rebelling against Him and each other, but for the most part they wouldn’t listen. And they don’t listen today, either. Here’s an example from Ezekiel 2:1-8,
1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.
5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.
8 But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

Time after time, God sends prophets to warn people to turn from their sins, for it is not that God is against them, but rather He wants them to enjoy His blessings, and rebellion keeps them OUT of His blessings. And yet mankind persists in rebellion, and we are seeing more and more of it in this present generation. I see in Revelation 6:1-4 about the horsemen,
1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Here we see the first two horsemen were about rebellion: the first having a crown and a bow, conquering. That horseman insisted on his way being inflicted upon all mankind. The second likewise fostering MORE rebellion, taking peace from the earth, to the point people were rising up killing one another. Do you see a pattern here of what rebellion does? Do you see any signs of rebellion in your own life? If so, how does it manifest?

Never in my life have I seen the level of rebellion against God so high. People are rebelling against God’s natural laws concerning sexuality, they are rebelling against the role of the husband and wife in a family, they are rebelling against even the gender identity they were born with. Rebellion is making people lose their minds to behave insanely. When will it end? It won’t, until Christ Jesus comes and puts a stop to all this craziness.

The root of rebellion is from Satan, who is the father of rebellion and lies, and as long as he is ruling on this earth, the earth and everything in it will suffer for it. The Lord Jesus told it how it is in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not but for to kill, and to steal, and to destroy; but I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” But who is listening? What are we doing about it? Are we turning from evil, to obey God?

When watching TV, it is full of violence, and commercials from lawyers advertizing their services to sue people for you, for medicines to treat this or that malady, various cancer treatments, and if not for rebellion, none of this would exist. Yes, you read that right. Rebellion is the root of sickness of every kind, it causes the loss of peace and emnity and war. Were it not for rebellion, we would not need locks on our cars or our homes, or identity theft protection, or virus protection for our computers. We would not be getting scam calls from people trying to commit fraud against us and steal from us. The root of rebellion has penetrated every fiber of our lives.

In a phone conversation yesterday I spoke about how one day the LORD asked me if I wanted to know the cure for cancer. I was busy doing something, just minding my own business when the LORD popped that question to me. Well of course I’d like to know the cure for cancer, we all would. Then the LORD asked me what cancer is? Does He not know? Yes, but WE don’t know. Cancer is a group of rebellious cells in your body that are not there to serve the body’s wellbeing, but rather, they are there with their own agenda to take over the body and destroy it. Well, maybe those cells don’t intend to kill the body, but once there are enough of them, the body can no longer function to keep it alive, and even the rebellious cells die in the process of the death of the rest of the body.

So then, what is the cure? Doctors use chemo, surgery and radiation to try to kill off the rebellious cancer cells, destroying many good cells in the process, and usually only prolonging the agony for a period of time. And usually the cancer comes back with a vengeance. But the LORD offered the true cure: GET THE REBELLION OUT OF YOUR LIFE AND THE CANCER WILL GO. Cancer must be fed in order to survive, and it feeds on your rebellion, in fact, it starts from your rebellion. Sure, things like sugar help it along, but the root cause is rebellion. You can try to eliminate sugar from your diet and slow cancer down, but everything we eat these days pretty much has some form of sugar in it. The only “cure” is to eliminate the cause, which is rebellion.

As most of you know, I had terminal cancer in 1993, and the LORD healed me with no treatments, only His Word. And His Word revealed the root of rebellion in my own life, and it wasn’t just a root, it was a whole tree in my case. I wanted to live, enough that I made the changes necessary to do so. That meant a TOTAL life change for me, not just dietary changes, though I did that as well. It meant repenting from my sins and turning from them. It meant getting into God’s Word and finding out how God wanted me to live, and DOING it. It meant no longer being the “rebel”, which was hard for me.

Many of you out there have cancer, and you’re doing all you can to get well. You’re using doctors and medicines, and that’s your business. You may say, “IT’S MY BODY AND I’LL DO AS I WANT.” Sorry, that’s rebellion. It’s NOT your body, it belongs to God who created it. It is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19,
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

GOD designed your body to be free from rebellion. But due to “free will”, we CHOOSE to live in rebellion to Him most of the time, in one form or another. Submit your soul unto Christ Jesus to be saved and healed. Submit your will unto God so you can stop being rebellious. Let God put your life back in order so you may start enjoying “life more abundantly”, and God created you to live. Yes, there are trials and tribulations in this world, but YOU don’t have to be a contributor to it by your rebellion.
