There comes a time in everyone’s life when they have a “Revelation” moment.  For some it comes early in life, for some it’s later.  But sooner or later we will have one.  Let’s read about the disciple Thomas when he had his awesome revelation moment. I’m going to kind of pick up where I left off last week in John chapter 20:18-29

18  Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
19  Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20  And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22  And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23  Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
24  But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25  The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26  And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Here is the RISEN Jesus, the only one ever crucified who had risen again from the dead.  And He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, then materialized in a locked room where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews. We read about that last week.  In verse 22 and 23,  Jesus breathed upon the disciples and said, RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST; WHOSE SOEVER SINS YE REMIT, THEY ARE REMITTED UNTO THEM, AND WHOSE SOEVER SINS YE RETAIN, THEY ARE RETAINED.

Remember, He also said, PEACE BE UNTO YOU. But we also see, Thomas, called Didymus, was not there with the others for some unknown reason.  “Didymus” means “of two minds”, in other words, “double minded”, like many people are even today after reading all the wonderful things Jesus did.  Well anyway, when the others told him they had seen Jesus risen, he didn’t believe them, as you can read in verse 25.  And then eight days later, Jesus came to them AGAIN, and this time Thomas was with them.  Jesus went straight to Thomas and repeated to Thomas the very words he had said, letting Thomas know HE knew EXACTLY what Thomas had said earlier in his unbelief. Read that verse 27 again, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Here’s where Thomas had his “revelation” moment.  He reached forth as Jesus told him, and felt the hole where the nails were and the hole in His side.  And he exclaimed: MY LORD AND MY GOD!! I can well imagine Thomas falling to his knees wide-eyed in utter amazement with tears streaming down his face, can’t you?

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Doesn’t that sound a bit sad that Jesus wasn’t calling Thomas “BLESSED”?  Rather, He said BLESSED ARE THEY THAT HAVE NOT SEEN, AND YET HAVE BELIEVED.

How sad it is that so many that claim to be followers of Christ Jesus have not had their “revelation” moment yet, for they must SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT.  Like I said, you will have yours, but will it be in THIS life, or in the JUDGMENT?
Jesus paid in FULL for all your sins, and ALL your diseases.  But how do you receive salvation and healing?  You must believe.  I can’t do it for you, that’s one you must do for yourself.  How much better it is to be “BLESSED” with the believers, than be counted with the doubters.

Being “double-minded” will keep you out of the blessings of God, PLUS, it keeps you in torment.  Every time the devil comes dangling a new doubt before you, a new pain in your body, or another trial or trouble, your doubt will keep you from having the peace of the Holy Spirit.  Remember how Jesus had said twice to them, PEACE BE UNTO YOU.  Can you have PEACE as long as you’re in unbelief?  Well, in the words of our dear disciple Thomas…I DOUBT IT.
I pray that TODAY you have your Thomas moment when the revelation hits you that God is good for His Word, and you cry out in amazement MY LORD AND MY GOD!!
