There is an error being perpetuated by those who want people to believe there was something lacking in the work of Jesus on the cross. And that error is “generational curses” upon those who are saved. This needs to be addressed and exposed for what it is.
The devil is ever at work to try to pervert the message of the Gospel. He was at it in the early church, and he’s still at it today. He was a liar then, and he’s a liar now. He’s trying to disconnect the Head from the Body.

Although generational curses, addictions, or diseases that run in families, are very real, and do exist, they apply only to the unsaved. Why do I say that? Because if you are born-again, a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, then you have been redeemed from the curse.
Galatians 3:13-14 says “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
Is that my opinion, or God’s? It’s God’s. And those who teach otherwise are denying the completed work of redemption of Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus does not need us to add anything to His work on the cross. It was completed, and He said, “IT IS FINISHED”. That doesn’t mean it was ALMOST finished, lacking only for someone to have a minister pray over him or her to break of any remaining curses.
Let me ask a question; can you show me anywhere in the scripture where Jesus told His disciples to follow up after He healed someone and deliver them from curses? No, of course not. Did the disciples teach about having to be delivered from generational curses? Again, no. Even before the cross, Jesus said, Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed! Then why are we doing it now? Jesus does not need us going after Him, adding something that He wasn’t able to get done. He did it all, and He didn’t need us to do it. Had we been able to deliver anyone from anything, He would not have needed to come.

People praying to break off curses from those who are saved are either not walking in knowledge, or else are exalting themselves above Christ. They are saying in effect “I will pray to deliver you now from something Christ Jesus has not done yet.” Of course they are not coming out and saying that by their words, but by their actions they are unknowingly implying it. This may fly in the face of some very sincere people who pray against generational curses, but let the Word of God convince you. Search the scriptures for yourself. You will find Jesus delivered us from all the curse.
Perhaps you are one of those “breaking off generational curses” from people who are saved, and have no revelation of your own freedom, nor that of those Christ died for. I perceive that is why many Christians are still living all bound up. If one really knew who he or she is in Christ Jesus, they would not allow the devil to have his way with their temple. Jesus set them free, but they are allowing the devil to trespass in their body. They have somehow exempted themselves from part of the covenant of the blood of Jesus. In this case, sound teaching, not prayer, is in order.
It is written in Psalm 103:2-3, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases.” What part of “all” is not covered under this promise? I know and believe these promises. Cancer almost killed me in 1993 before I came to the Lord for salvation, but once I realized what He furnished me in His covenant, sickness, curses, and all the rest of the devil’s work was destroyed by virtue of the Blood of Jesus. They no longer applied to me. Now I was in covenant with God.

And they no longer apply to anyone else that is born-again. But you can only walk in what you know. Lack of knowledge destroys many people. Now, when the devil comes from time to time to try to put his junk on me, I remind him of who I am in Christ Jesus, and of my authority that was granted to me by the Lord Jesus. I run him off and tell him he is not allowed in my temple, to get out and take all his junk with him. I don’t ask him, I command him. He’s not in charge here, I am. And I am submitted to the Lord Jesus, who is in turn submitted to His heavenly Father. I am a man under authority who submits to those above me (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and commands those set under me (the devil and his crew).

I’m not in charge of people’s wills. So many go around trying to manipulate people. That’s not God, that’s witchcraft. Our job is to command unclean spirits to leave. Jesus told us to occupy until He returns. He won the war, we are the occupying force, maintaining what He has already conquered. He conquered the devil, and told His disciples (you and me), Now, you’re in charge till I come back. And He went back to heaven. You have to get a picture of this in your mind! It’s not a fairy tale, it’s your assignment!

It’s high time the body of Christ started agreeing with it’s Head. If the Head of the church is Holy, then is the body cursed? No. If the Head (Christ Jesus) is in charge, then is the body (us) any less in charge? No, of course not. The Head makes the decision to raise the arm, what does the arm do? It raises. It doesn’t say, well, I’m not going to because I don’t want to just now. And it doesn’t say, “I’m just not worthy.” It just obeys without hesitation. Why can’t the body of Christ just follow the same example as God has set in the human body to respond to the command of the head? So simple, yet so many people miss it.

Only if the body is connected to the head, can it obey. If you cut a person’s head off, there is no communication between the head and the body, and the body cannot respond. So when you see a person who is saved that is constantly living in sickness or bondage, then I would have to assume that body is cut off from it’s head, because the Head says you are set free and healed from all your diseases, but the body just isn’t getting it. There’s a lack of communication somewhere. It’s caused by a lack of study and meditation on the promises. For it is written, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. If you want to know what the Head is doing, you have to stay connected to it.
Another thing, you have to ditch your preconceived ideas about God. You have to open your Bible, and read it and literally take God at His word.

And when your head says, that isn’t right according to what we believe in our church, then tell your head to shut up, because if God’s word says it, then it’s truth. Once years ago the Lord told me to forget EVERYTHING I ever knew about Him, and start in Genesis 1:1 and let Him show me who He really is. I got a few chapters into Genesis and said, Now that isn’t right..(my “religion” speaking up), and the Spirit of the Lord said, “EXCUSE ME….?” Over the next year or so I had to “unlearn” some stuff I thought I knew about God and let Him set me straight. I had so many misconceptions that “religion” had taught me. The God I knew at that time was pretty limited. He couldn’t save or heal many, or even deliver them from their problems. Here a few, there a few, but very few at that.
Do you notice this is the common picture in most churches? Do you wonder why not many people get saved in churches today? No one in the church I used to attend ever saw anyone healed or a devil cast out. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ has been so watered down today that most people are looking for something to add to it to make it work. They try program after program, build buildings, start committees for everything they can think of, yet nothing really ever changes. They hang out “Revival” signs, but there’s no revival. People still come to church and leave the same way they came in….disappointed and empty. Well, let me tell you something. The Gospel does work if you preach it like it really is! Look in the book of Acts. When Jesus was preached, God visited His people. Thousands upon thousands got saved. The power of God was truly in evidence. Same God, different day.
Though Jesus went to the cross like a Lamb, He came out of the tomb a conquering Lion. This same Jesus of Nazareth conquered sin and death forever. He came to save, heal, and deliver you and me from all that afflicts us, and not just part or most of it. He did it! It’s DONE! It is FINISHED!
He has indeed set us free from all that afflicts us. All……….not part of it.

Get your body connected with the Head so you can move freely with Him….you’ll be so glad you did!
