I like that saying, “IN GOD WE TRUST”.  It’s printed on our money here in the United States, but are we REALLY trusting in God, or are we trusting in the wisdom of men?  By what I read in the news, I cannot find much if any evidence of trust in God in any of our governmental affairs.  They say, “As the people are, so is the government”?  Really?  Then we’re in a lot of trouble, folks, for our leaders are continually voting God out of our daily lives, and when God’s gone, so are His blessings.  Because those in our Nation who hate God are doing all they can to get our leaders to remove every Godly influence from our society, those of us who love God will be adversely affected.  Or will we?
   Prayer has been effectively removed from our schools, because of one woman who complained enough to the government to get her way, over the desires of multitudes of those who wanted to keep prayer in school.  Yet, those who removed prayer from our schools seem to have no problem whatsoever with those who would bring abominable lifestyles and prayer unto false gods into our school systems.  Odd, isn’t it?  How did that happen?  The very people who love God sat idly by and did nothing, thinking, “God is in control, He will stop it if He wants to.”  Yet they forgot that God’s people (that’s you and me, if you love the LORD) were given authority and a mandate from God to conform this world into His likeness.  It isn’t God’s job to stop evil from ruling, it’s OUR job.  He left us in charge, so what are we doing about it?  It is written in Proverbs 29:2, When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.  Even during times where the wicked bear rule, and all the land is groaning under their evil, God still takes excellent care of His own.  Remember Psalm 91?  Let’s have a good look at what is in store for those who love and serve God:
Psa 91:1  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa 91:2  I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psa 91:3  Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Psa 91:4  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Psa 91:5  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Psa 91:6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Psa 91:7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Psa 91:8  Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Psa 91:9  Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Psa 91:10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Psa 91:11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psa 91:12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psa 91:13  Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Psa 91:14  Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psa 91:15  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Psa 91:16  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
    I don’t know about you, but I rejoice in the knowledge that even though there is evil on every side of me, there is nothing I need to fear.  If the government fails, God will not fail me.  If there is no food, God will somehow feed me.  If the water dries up, God can bring water forth from a rock in necessary.  He is not limited, and if I’m His, then I’m not limited either.
    If you belong to God, you can truly say IN GOD WE TRUST, and nothing can by any means harm you.  Though they can kill the body, evil cannot separate us from the LORD GOD who loves us.  We don’t need to lay awake at night wondering “WHAT IF?”  Our God is bigger than “What if?”  He’s bigger than the economy, bigger than our next paycheck, bigger than any government program.  He’s bigger than famine, or drought, or war or pestilence.  But only those who truly trust God will make it through the hard times coming, which has been brought on by the ungodly and evil among us.
    Do you have perfect peace in your heart right now?  What if you heard on the news that all the banks were closed, all the gasoline was gone, all the food markets were out of products?  Would you still have perfect peace in your heart?  You would if your heart truly trusts in God, for He will make a way for you where there appears to be no way.  I’m not saying everything would be easy, but the world does not change God’s Word.  God’s Word will change YOUR world, the one you and your family live in, but only if you trust Him.  There are plenty who SAY they trust God, but in reality, they are trusting in their own wisdom to get them through life.  Those who trust God ask Him for instructions daily, and listen, and OBEY!!.  Those who trust in their own wisdom DON’T.  That’s how you tell the difference.
    I for one refuse to let the affairs of the world move me.  My eyes are upon the promises of God, my ears are open to His voice, and my heart is determined to love and obey Him, no matter what.  I’ve been through the fire enough times to know God is always faithful, and His eyes are upon His children continually to preserve them through hardship.  Though the ungodly seem to prosper at times, they are but a vapor in eternity, and when God settles the score, only those who can truly say “IN GOD WE TRUST” will remain.  Will I see you there?
 If you don’t have that relationship with God that assures your heart is fixed upon Him, there is no better time than RIGHT NOW to make Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior.  He has already paid the price for your salvation, healing, deliverance and blessing.  Let your heart joyfully say with me, IN GOD WE TRUST.
