I wish I had all the answers concerning healing, but I don’t.  I do have a lot of them, but certainly not all.  I’m dealing with a hearing loss and KNOW Jesus paid for its healing, yet it’s still there. I ask myself, When am I expecting perfect healing? Every moment of every day!  I have been dealing with this since 1967, so I understand the frustration of WHEN, LORD?

This past Friday night, I was at a meeting and couldn’t get much of anything they were saying, so I was kind of “zoned out” meditating on the LORD if you know what I mean, and  the LORD spoke to me very clearly about my hearing, He said, Jerry, you don’t have to hear to heal people. That’s about as simple and to the point as it gets. Actually, most of the time when people come up to me in a prayer line and say something concerning what they think they need, I don’t even hear it.  I MUST LISTEN TO THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HE TELLS ME HOW TO PRAY EACH TIME.   He told me to concentrate on my ministry work and MOST of that work is reading all the prayer requests that come in and responding to them.  Does that mean He is telling me He won’t restore my hearing?  He didn’t say one way or the other, and I’m not going to concern myself with it any more.  I asked for healing and believe I receive, period. It’s not my problem anymore, it’s HIS.

When I had cancer in 1993 and was in much pain, my desire was still to live and not leave my wife, and the LORD allowed me grace to bear through with only His Word and no treatments until my healing was manifest, and I haven’t been sick ever again since.  Now not everyone I’ve prayed for has been healed, though it’s always my faith and hope they are.  Some ministers claim 100% success in healing, but if that were the case it would be wonderful, but they don’t have.  I only hit about 70% and it grieves me for the ones who are not healed and it makes me wonder where or if I failed.  Only God knows.

But the Bible says in Hosea 4:6, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Notice here Hosea said MY PEOPLE, meaning GOD’S people.  He is ever trying to teach them from His Word, but many reject knowing it.  Many of God’s people are sick because they will not take the time to search the scriptures and learn what God said about healing.  I took the time to do so and found our healing is paid for in full, so I spend much time teaching about healing.  But not all the sick will receive teaching, and think they know everything already, because of faulty teachings they have received in the past.  And rejecting the truth, they suffer and die needlessly before their time.  Is that God’s will?  Absolutely NOT.

You will notice Jesus spent more time teaching than He did healing.  When I hold healing services I like to get several hours of teaching into the people first, so they are in a position to receive, instead of walking in sick and leaving sick.  The expectation of many sick is this; they WANT to be well, because nobody likes being sick.  But their expectation level to be healed is pretty much not there.  They would HOPE to be healed, but it would be like me saying to the people, I am rich, and I can give someone here $1000. You would be HOPE that it would be you, but in recognition of the fact there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of people there, the likelihood of it being you is pretty slim.  But if I said, I am rich, and it’s my will to give everyone here $1000, then your expectation level would rise up and cause you to come up and say, I’m here for my $1000, thank you. And you would walk away with the money.

Well, when I minister healing, it’s my job to convince people by the Word of God that their healing is already paid for, which it is, so that when I lay hands on them, their faith level allows them to receive.
There was a time two blind men asked Jesus to heal them.
Mat 9:27  And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.
Mat 9:28  And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
Mat 9:29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Mat 9:30  And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
Mat 9:31  But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Jesus DIDN’T say, According to MY faith you are healed.  He said, According to YOUR faith be it unto you. People don’t want to hear that: they want to put it all on Jesus, then if they don’t receive, they can blame it on God, saying, “It wasn’t God’s will to heal me.”, or some other nonsense.

Do you see the importance of that?  God has given unto EVERY man the measure of faith, GOD’S OWN FAITH, that absolutely will work every time.  BUT, we have to USE that faith in order to receive from God.  Now, if someone is unconscious and they need healing, then it’s MY faith needed to heal them, but if they are awake, then they need to use THEIR faith to receive.  And in order to use their faith, they must be taught how to exercise it, and that’s where my job starts.  I can teach, but the student must apply the teaching, does that make sense?  Jesus made healing available, does that mean ALL are healed?  No, but they CAN be, for Jesus paid the price.  Jesus paid the price for ALL to be saved, but will all be saved?  No, He said himself there be FEW that be saved.  Why? because they reject His free gift.

We can move from HOPE to substance by believing the Word of God.  All COULD, but not all DO.  It all boils down to a matter of personal choice.  Some believe, some don’t, and God will not overrule your choice to heal or save you, for He has given us all free will, freedom of choice, and He doesn’t violate that.  My desire is always that the LORD will lead me with the teachings that will fully convince people to put all their faith in the integrity of His Word so they can receive what they need from Him.  I send out a weekly newsletter to help people develop their faith.  Some read it and learn, some delete my letter and never even bother to read it, so who do you think will profit from it?  I have nothing to gain or lose by what they do with my teachings, but THEY stand to gain or lose.  God holds His hand out all the day long to all, but many are stiffnecked and refuse instruction, and thereby perish, and some actually blame God because they are not healed, saying If God wants me healed, then I will be healed REGARDLESS of what I do or don’t do. They fail to acknowledge God gave them a choice in the matter….

The LORD has healed quadriplegics for me, and they get up and walk.  Now if He can do it for them, He can do it for YOU.  And we can’t pray, “If it be Your will”, for the Lord Jesus clearly showed us it’s the Father’s will to heal.  Remember the leper in Mark chapter 1?
Mar 1:40  And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mar 1:41  And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
Mar 1:42  And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

The leper knew He COULD heal him, but not if He WOULD.  Jesus cancelled the man’s “IF” by saying I will.   When there’s an “IF” floating around in you somewhere, you’re not as likely to receive anything from the LORD, but I’m not about to say you don’t have enough faith.  I know you DO because “unto every man is given a measure of faith”.  The Greek says unto every man is given THE measure of faith.  There’s only one faith, and one giver of that faith, being Christ Jesus, and it is given unto YOU, so you’re not lacking faith. So you can’t say “I don’t have enough faith”, nor can you say “My faith doesn’t work.”  It will do exactly what you believe in your heart and say with your mouth if you doubt not, according to Mark 11:23-24.

Many years ago I was ministering at a Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship conference, and after giving my testimony, people came up for prayer.  I remember this lady in a wheelchair. I laid hands on her and told her to rise and walk.  She struggled much and said she couldn’t get up.  I stayed there quite a few minutes ministering to her and telling her to rise and walk. Finally she said she couldn’t get up, so I said, “Then God must be a liar.  He said you’re healed and you say you aren’t, so one of you is lying.”  I moved on down the line to minister to the others waiting, and a few minutes later I heard a commotion and looked over there and she was up and walking around.  She said to me, “I’ll have you know God is not a liar.”  I told her, “I knew it all along, but YOU didn’t!”   Well, years passed and a couple years ago I was invited to minister there again, and this little old lady came up and said, “Do you remember me?”  I told her I was sorry, but I didn’t.  She said, “Well you should, you healed me from being paralyzed and I’ve never been back in a wheelchair again.”  It was her.  No, I didn’t heal her, JESUS did.  And I give Him all the glory!  I just reminded her of what God said.

Jesus Christ; the same yesterday, today, and for ever. Remember that.  And when I see you and you tell me “I’m HEALED!”,  I’m gonna tell you “I told you so…” And we will rejoice together.  Healing is optional: you can have it if you want.
