Everything around us changes continually, the sky and the clouds, the seasons, and even nations change.  We can see how society has changed from just a hundred years ago, for example, the moral values people hold, how people dress differently, how our mode of transportation has changed.  We have gone from looking at the moon to actually going there in the span of a hundred years.  A lot has changed, hasn’t it?
   Computers were unheard of a hundred years ago, and in the sixties computers were in their infancy, and by ten years ago many households had personal computers.  Today, computers are so common, many households have several of them.  Multitudes have computers that fit in their pocket in the form of cell phones that do more tasks than even the most expensive computers could do ten years ago.  Computers have been integrated into vehicles, enabling safer and more convenient transportation.  It’s all about change, or so we think.
   It seems people are on a quest for change, and nobody wants to leave things as they are.  But a couple things never change:  human nature shows us that people are never satisfied.  Thus, for example, people will work extra hours each week to pay for things that will change their lives, a new and better TV, or a new and better vehicle, or this or that latest gadget.  They just HAVE to have the latest and greatest thing that hits the market.  Sound familiar?
   What else never changes?  God never changes!  The Holy Bible says in James 1:17;  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.   That means God doesn’t change according to the seasons, or by the whims of mankind.  Though mankind is moved by their circumstances, or the latest fad, or political correctness, God isn’t.  It is written in Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  What does that mean to you and me?  That means if it is written in the Holy Bible, and God did such and such then, He is still doing the same today.  His values have not changed.  His love and compassion are unchanged.  What He hated then, He hates now.  What He loved then, He loves now.  Why is it we insist on complicating this simple truth?
   You know me; I like to teach about healing, because this is what the LORD has called me to do.  I spend a great deal of my Bible study time going through the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, looking at what the Lord Jesus did, and what He didn’t do, what He said, and what He DIDN’T say.  And what He DIDN’T say is just as important as what He DID say.  I want to give you an example from Mark 10:46-52:
Mar 10:46  And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
Mar 10:47  And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Mar 10:48  And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
Mar 10:49  And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
Mar 10:50  And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
Mar 10:51  And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
Mar 10:52  And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
   Now, you’ve seen what the Lord Jesus did and said.  One day the Holy Spirit asked me, Jerry, what did I NOT say to Bartimaeus?  I replied, Lord, I don’t have a clue what you didn’t say to him, I wasn’t there.  He said, Did I say to Bartimaeus, Have you repented of your sins?  I said, No, Lord, I don’t see that you did.  He said, Did I ask him if he had paid his tithes?  No, Lord, I don’t see that written.  He asked again, Did I ask him if he had forgiven those who had sinned against him?  No, Lord, it doesn’t say that, either.  Then WHY are people putting conditions on My mercy and healings, when I only required they believe?
   Wow!  That opened my eyes to a lot of things, how about you?  Can you see the difference between what the Lord Jesus did some two thousand years ago and what is going on today?  If God changes not, and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then SOMETHING HAS CHANGED, AND IT ISN’T GOD!!  Could it be OUR changes, our theories, our religious views,  are rendering the Gospel of Jesus Christ ineffective?  Could it be that we are failing to accept the truths of the Gospel, substituting our own version of “truth”, for God’s?
   Could it be that we are substituting unbelief for faith?  Hear me out here, I’m helping you.  We’ve put all these conditions on getting healed in this day and age, and yet, there were only two things that kept people from receiving their healing when the Lord Jesus was here in His earthly ministry.  Either they didn’t come to Him, or else they didn’t believe.  Now, I’m teachable, so if you can show that to be wrong, I’m listening.  The Bible says He healed them all.  Here are a few verses for you to consider:
Mat 4:23  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Mat 4:24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
Mat 4:25  And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
Mat 12:14  Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
Mat 12:15  But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
Luk 6:17  And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
Luk 6:18  And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
Luk 6:19  And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
So, does this mean healing ended when the Lord Jesus completed His earthly ministry?  NO!
Let’s look at Acts 3:1-11
Act 3:1  Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
Act 3:2  And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
Act 3:3  Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
Act 3:4  And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
Act 3:5  And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
Act 3:6  Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
Act 3:7  And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Act 3:8  And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Act 3:9  And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
Act 3:10  And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
Act 3:11  And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

   And people today are STILL wondering what happened.  I’m not, I know Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  What He required then for healing, He still requires today;  Nothing more, and nothing less.  He requires we come to Him, and we believe.  He furnishes the rest.  If we come, and just “hope”, but don’t believe, nothing happens.  If we believe, but don’t come to Him, nothing happens.  No amount of reasoning, theorizing, and discussion will change it.  God changes not, so if there’s a problem, it isn’t on God’s end, it’s on ours, plain and simple.  Some try to reason God doesn’t heal everyone today, but that flies in the face of the Bible, and it’s nothing more than an excuse for our unbelief.  Consider these verses:
Mar 6:1  And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
Mar 6:2  And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
Mar 6:3  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Mar 6:4  But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Mar 6:5  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
Mar 6:6  And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
   Unbelief kept people from their healing then, and it does the same thing today.  Paul spoke of unbelief in Romans,
Rom 11:22  Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Rom 11:23  And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
    Unbelief kept the unbelieving Jews from receiving God’s best, and it will keep anyone else from receiving His best.  So the next time doubt tries to creep into your heart, just remember, GOD NEVER CHANGES.
