Today I’d like to crank you up, and help you to come into a better place in the LORD.  It is written in Proverbs 4:5-7:
Pro 4:5  Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Pro 4:6  Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
Pro 4:7  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Yet in Hebrews 11:6 it says, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. We see here there is a need for wisdom and understanding. But wisdom tells us we must have FAITH if we are to ever accomplish anything pleasing unto God.  But you can have any number of college degrees and not have faith.  There are many highly educated people who don’t have enough faith to move a pimple, let alone a mountain.  But if you put Godly wisdom and faith together, you have an unbeatable team.

Today in the news, the weather people are predicting a terrible time of ice, sleet, and miserable conditions in the Midwest.  But I’m a child of God, and wisdom tells me God is FOR me, and not AGAINST me.  The Lord Jesus said this in Mark 11:22-24:
Mar 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mar 11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mar 11:24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

I don’t know about you, but I have enough wisdom to know that God cannot lie.  And if Jesus said for me to have faith in God, then I will.  And by that faith I can do all the Lord Jesus said I can do, so I’m not going to stand by and let the devil ruin my day, or steal my goods, or bring destruction to my property through some stupid ice storm.  Nor will I let those who have not faith dictate what will happen at MY house and on MY property.

God has given us believers the authority to use our words to bring our situations into line with the Word of God.  If YOU want to all the devil cause your electricity go out due to an ice storm, well buddy, go for it, but not ME.  God has not given us wisdom and faith to stand by and let the devil take over and have his way.  The Lord Jesus said in John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but damaging ice storms are NOT life more abundantly, so I know who is causing it.  And if I know who is causing it, and not standing against it, how can I say I have wisdom OR faith?

Some SAY they have faith, but they really don’t, it’s only to look good in the eyes of man.  I don’t care about pleasing men, I’m out to please God.  He didn’t go to the trouble to give us wisdom and faith for us to roll over when the devil whispers “BOO!” and not to use it.  We can fool people, but we can’t fool God, and as they say, “The proof is in the pudding.”  If you don’t believe the Word of God, even your “faith declarations” will have no effect on anything, let alone the weather in your area.  Jesus calmed the storm and He said in John 14:12-14:

Joh 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Joh 14:13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Greater things than He did shall WE do:  if we BELIEVE, that is.  You see, that’s the key, once again, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God said He rewards those that DILIGENTLY seek Him.  That doesn’t mean only when an ice storm is threatening, or your cupboard is bare, or your health is not good, or you have more month left than money.  Diligently seeking God is a full-time endeavor, and if you will do that, you will be rewarded with not only WISDOM, but your FAITH will do what you tell it to do.  If  you speak to that ice storm and say it is NOT coming nigh you, then it won’t.    Do you believe that?  Well, if you have faith you will.  And if you’re faking it, then you’d better hunker down for the storm and get through it the best you can.  It’s YOUR choice.  God already gave you everything you need to calm the storm.

Now, what are YOU going to do about it?
