The LORD often speaks to me straight out of the Bible, giving me Book, Chapter and Verse.  And this week has been no exception.  At the time I was working on our motor home and was asking Him about why so much is going wrong in our Country these days, and it took all of about five seconds for me to get His reply.  He referred me to Nehemiah 9:33-37.  Well, since I had no clue what it said, I had to stop what I was doing and clean up and go get my Bible.  What it said really got my attention.  Here’s what it says:

Neh 9:33  Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:
Neh 9:34  Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.
Neh 9:35  For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
Neh 9:36  Behold, we are servants this day, and for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it:
Neh 9:37  And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have dominion over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.

My wife wasn’t home at the time, and I sent her a text message of what I heard from the LORD.  There is no way that message came “by chance”.  And being I asked, He answered.  God doesn’t sugar coat anything, He tells us exactly like it is, whether we like it or not.  Actually, God did all of us a favor by giving us this information, for there is something we all can do about it:  we can repent from our wicked works and turn to God with our whole heart, and He will heal us.

God gets no pleasure from watching the world destroy itself in sin, especially since He has provided us a Savior in Christ Jesus of Nazareth.  You would think everyone would jump at the chance to be free of their sinful ways and live in the blessings of God, but sadly, that just isn’t the case.  It seems the longer the second coming of Christ Jesus is delayed, the more wicked the world becomes, and life as we knew it just fifty years ago seems like a precious memory now in comparison.  People were kinder then, not in such a hurry, and had more compassion for one another.  Not so much anymore.  Every generation seems to wish for the “good old days”, even though at the time those days did not seem to be so good.

Now, I’m certainly not complaining about the way the LORD has treated me since I’ve known Him.  Actually, my life is better now than it’s ever been in many ways, because the LORD treats me so good, but as I look around at those who DON’T know the LORD, I can see how stressed out they are, and wonder how long things can go on like this before something really terrible happens.

God does not promise us roses without thorns, but He does promise never to leave or forsake us.  He gave me a clear reason why things are going badly in the world, and it is COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE!   And that really saddens me, because it isn’t like all this stuff is going bad in the world and there’s simply nothing that can be done to stop it.  No, there IS something we can all do to stop it, and that is to get on our knees before God and repent and each and every one of us get right before Him, and KEEP right before Him.  The Bible tells us that the judgment of God begins at the House of God, namely starting with God’s children, and going out from there.  If God’s children scarcely be saved, where does the REST of the world stand?  Not in a good place, to say the least.

I’m going to keep this very short this week so as not to lose the focus and the impact of it.  You ask if there’s anything you personally can do to make a difference?   There IS something YOU can do right now.  You can stop whatever you’re doing and get on your knees and thank God for the blood of Christ Jesus of Nazareth, (Yeshua Messiah), that was shed for the remission of your sins.  You can thank Him for the stripes Christ Jesus took upon His body whereby He healed all your diseases.  You can worship Him with all your heart joyfully for all the blessings He has provided for you, and for keeping you safe.

Then you can ask Him if there’s anything you are doing that is displeasing to Him.  If so, don’t worry, He will tell you, for He wants you to be in perfect fellowship with Him all the time.  If He tells you to change something, do it.  Don’t be in denial, or stubborn, or make excuses for it; just do it.  Don’t worry about what your neighbor is doing, or the people at work, or what the politicians are doing to our nation, just let Him make any necessary adjustments on YOU, and be happy for it, because He has your best interests at heart.  And He wants for you to be with Him forever.

Our collective sins have caused all this mess.  We can repent and forsake our sins, that’s what WE can do.  God can and will fix this mess if we will do our part, but if we ignore His invitation to turn from our wicked ways, things will just keep getting worse until everything is destroyed.  Do yourself a favor, make sure YOU are part of the solution, and not part of the problem.  I’ll do my part, will you please do yours?  There is little time for us to turn things around.  It’s easy to put things off or think it’s “someone else’s job”.  But it isn’t.  It’s OUR job, because we’re the children of God, and He is starting with us before He deals with everyone else.  Let’s make it easy on everyone and do this.  We know what’s going on and now we know why.  No more excuses, ok?
