A band called the Beatles had a hit record back in around 1963 called, “Do you want to know a secret?”  Everyone wants to know a secret, right? And the Bible is chock full of them, called “mysteries”.  But the Lord Jesus gave away some that had been kept hidden from the foundation of the world.The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 13:31-35,
31  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32  Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
33  Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
34  All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
35  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

The LORD wants to let us in on some secrets, things that will really change our way of thinking and change our lives for the better.  But are we listening?  Do we really want to know a secret? Or are we just kidding ourselves?  It is no secret that God wants to bring the Kingdom of heaven onto the earth.  But He uses His children speaking His Words to bring them to manifestation.  So that means, if we aren’t speaking His Words, nothing gets done for the Kingdom here at all.  And we get all upset because “the Word isn’t working”.  Well, I used to have a tee shirt that said, “The Word works wonders when the workman works the Word”. And we wonder why Jesus is delaying His coming?  He is waiting for US to “WORK THE WORD”!

The “seed” of God’s Word indeed does start off small, just like a mustard seed that is planted.  Does that mustard seed just pop up overnight a mature tree?  No, it grows from a seedling.  Our faith grows as a seedling.  I don’t know of anyone who was born a spiritual giant, except Christ Jesus, and the Bible says even He grew in knowledge and favor with God and men.
The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:4-10,

4  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. note
6  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

You see, God is revealing secrets to us by His Holy Spirit.  Those who do not have the Holy Spirit cannot understand the mysteries He reveals, but to those having His Spirit, they are easy to understand.  Jesus said in Matthew 13:9-11;

9  Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
And again in Luke 8:10-11,
10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
11  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Here’s another secret Jesus gave away:
Luke 10:19-21;
19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21  In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

So many of God’s children live in fear of what the devil wants to do to them, or what he IS doing to them, and that fear is completely unfounded, for Christ Jesus HAS GIVEN us power to keep the devil from hurting us.  Many believe one day God WILL deliver us from the devil.  But that is in error!  He already HAS delivered us from Satan’s power!  IT IS FINISHED!

And to me, here’s the “biggie” that Jesus revealed to us, kept hidden from us from the very foundation of the world, now CLEARLY revealed clearly to us, and yet it still remains a mystery to most Christians, because they certainly are NOT putting it to use.  Do you want to know a secret?  Read Mark 11:22-25,

22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Right here in these three verses are so much power to change your life from pitiful to powerful, but they won’t help you if you don’t use them.  DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET?  Well now you do.  What do you intend to do with it??
